Week in Review: 9.23.2007

It has been another great week at The Sales Blog. We successfully completed our very first Sales Training Tele-seminar brought to us by Paul McCord and look forward to our second one this Tuesday, September 25th at 3:00 p.m. CST.

If you have not signed up for the sales training yet, I would encourage you to do so. I truly believe that it is our responsibility as sales professionals to continually grow in knowledge and expertise and this opportunity offered by Paul is an invaluable one. I would also encourage you to keep up-to-date with what is happening at The Sales Blog by subscribing to our RSS feeds. You can get daily posts at The Sales Blog sent directly to your email by subscribing here.

This week I ran across several articles posted on blogs and resources that I found very informative. The following are the articles and links to the respective resources:

SalesMotivation.net had a great article written by Brian Tracy titled Be a Doctor of Selling. The article discusses three keys to building relationships and the fact that top sales professionals see themselves as “Doctors in Selling.”

Paul McCord discusses Recognizing Your Biggest Competitor at EyesOnSales and tells us that our biggest competitor is our prospect’s decision to do nothing because of either apathy or indecision.

Katherine wrote The Name Game: Branding Yourself for Success which discusses the importance of branding yourself and how your “name” or “nickname” can be just as important as choosing a name for your company.

That is it for this week. I hope you have a great week selling and remember “your next sales commission may be only a phone call away!”

Happy Selling,

Rob Halvorsen
